Sportfit is looking for dynamic individuals seeking a career working with children and young people.  They should be resilient, nurturing in nature, dynamic and active, and enjoy working as part of a close-knit team who are committed to providing each young person with a safe and supportive environment where their needs are put first.

Natalia

Head of Supported Accommodation

I have worked as part of senior teams for the past seven years across social care and early education sector. I hold BSc in Criminology and Forensic Science as well as MSc in Economical Crime and International Criminal justice, which allows me to understand the issues of marginalised youth in our communities. Additionally, I am also in the process of becoming a Registered Manager with Ofsted to better support our staff and young people in our settings.

Dan

Support Manager

Dan is one of our Project Managers within the post-16 supported living program.  An experienced and passionate practitioner who is currently studying his Level 4 NVQ qualification, Dan is a very keen cricketer and golfer and prides himself in delivering a team ethos within his team and homes.

Richard

Support Manager

Hello! I’m Rich, I have worked in social care for over 7 years. I have been lucky enough to meet lots of amazing young people during that time. My passion for helping young people reach their potential, and an enjoyment for building relationships with them, means I get to love coming to work at Sportfit. It is my job to help the young people develop, gain work experience, get into education, and learn new skills; achieving this brings me a huge sense of satisfaction. Through my time at Sportfit I have gained my Level 3 Diploma, and my Level 5 Diploma both which relate to working within the Young Peoples Workforce. In my personal time, I like to cook, spend time with friends, try to keep fit, and relax!

Alex

Support Manager

I am a project manager working within the independent living team in Dorset, BCP and Hampshire. I have a degree in Psychology, and I have been working in education and social care since 2016. I choose to work in social care because I am passionate about having a positive impact in young people’s lives and ensuring they are kept safe, especially for those who have not had the easiest start in life. Young people at Sportfit can come from a wide range of circumstances, and I love hearing their stories and supporting them in their journey. I have many hobbies, but my favourites are playing football, running, and seeing friends.

Lisa

Support Manager

Lisa joined Sportfit in 2021 following 5 years as a project manager with a Bournemouth-based company, gaining her Level 5 Health and Social Care (Management) Diploma, and 17 years in education. After many years working with additional needs and in pastoral care, Lisa supported on a local NCS programme as a team leader run by a health and social care provider and it was during this she realised a change of career was on the cards.

Lisa is committed to giving 100% to all the young people and staff members she works with, often thinking outside the box to achieve positive outcomes. There have been a variety of highlights to her health and social career ranging from providing a young person with the skills to make scrambled egg, acting as a birthing partner and watching several YPs moving in to, and maintaining, their own accommodation.

In her spare time, Lisa enjoys going to the theatre and cinema, socialising with friends and family and enjoying walks along the beach, along the Purbecks and in the New Forest.

Catherine

Support Manager

I have worked in Social Care for 17 years. Social Care was always a passion of mine and what I wanted to do from a young age. I studied Health and Social Care at college and then went straight into working in Social Care. Making a difference to peoples lives is always something I aspired to. I enjoy working with our young people as I get great passion from seeing them flourish and develop into young adults. I get a sense of achievement from seeing our young people benefit from the support we offer.

I have a Level 3 in Health and Social Care and a Level 5 in Residential Childcare qualification.

I am a Mum and enjoy spending time with my young son. I am a hobby baker- although I need some more practice!

Kayleigh

Support Manager

I have worked in social care for about 9 years.

I have always been passionate about helping/supporting others to improve their quality of life. Through personal and professional experiences, I have developed skills and awareness on how to promote positive mental wellbeing, and understand the importance of mental health and how this can impact all areas of an individuals life.

I enjoy supporting young people to develop skills, that can empower them to express themselves in a more positive and safe way, and make healthier and constructive choices, hopefully setting them up for a better quality of life.

I have achieved a Level 4 in humanistic counselling, a level 5 in team leadership skills and management, and a Upper Second-class Honours Degree in Psychology, Child development and Criminality.

I really love music, and enjoy arts and crafts, and hiking.

Shaun

Support Manager

I have been working in Social care since 2018 before then I had worked in customer service, trained to be a teacher and worked in outdoor adventure and education

I had taken time out from working with children and young people and worked the office 9-5 life as an analyst, my passion was to work with children and young people again to help them progress and develop through positive relationships

All of our young people have so much potential, by earning their respect and trust we can help them to maximise this potential. The highlight of our role is seeing the young people achieve what they did not think was possible.

Through working at Sportfit I have achieved my level 3 in CYP and I am currently working towards my level 5. I also have a CERT HE in Secondary Education Maths, English and ICT

I enjoy the usual things in life such as friends, family, football and computer games but what I really enjoy and take pride in is helping others to progress and develop personally and professionally.

Cherie

Support Manager

Hello I am Cherie. I have now been working in Social Care for 5 years.

However, I previously worked in nurseries working within the baby unit and I also spent 6 years in the Youth Department on Cruise Ships.

I moved across into Social Care as I felt it the time was right to widen my knowledge and experience; and to help make a difference to Young People and Families.

A positive aspect of working with Young People is seeing them develop and progress throughout their time with us, and to see them move on into their own homes or back in with their families.

Since being with Sportfit I have achieved my Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce and I am currently working towards my Level 5.

Away from Sportfit, I like to spend time with family and friends.
