Making a difference in the lives of young people
Based in Southampton and with 7 years of experience, the Sportfit team are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of young people with learning disabilities and unique situations, as well as their families.
We offer high-end support to 16-19 year old young people, alongside an independent living step down programme for post 18 individuals.
We work with young people with developmental delays, backgrounds in abuse and those with family relationship breakdowns. We work with social services and local authorities, as well as the young people themselves, to provide an environment in which our service users can flourish.
Our services
We offer bespoke plans for each of our service users to ensure that their plans are tailor made to suit their needs. An initial assessment will be carried out on each service user to determine their needs and the ways in which we can help.

"Staff are expected to undertake Skills for Care in a very comprehensive three-day induction which includes; workers role and responsibilities, Person centered support, Effective communication, Information handling, Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Risk assessment management, Stress, Lone working, Fire safety, Food hygiene etc.
This is followed by shadowing a manager and more experienced staff. In addition, specialized training includes; Autism and challenging behavior awareness, Child Sexual Exploitation awareness, Positive behavior support, and Restraint (‘Team Teach’) etc.
Training is now delivered by an in-house trainer; we have seen a very comprehensive training matrix for all staff, including management. This is amongst the best seen from any Semi-Independent provider."
