Training and development

“Staff are expected to undertake Skills for Care in a very comprehensive three-day induction which includes; workers role and responsibilities, Person centered support, Effective communication, Information handling, Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Risk assessment management, Stress, Lone working, Fire safety, Food hygiene etc.
This is followed by shadowing a manager and more experienced staff. In addition, specialized training includes; Autism and challenging behavior awareness, Child Sexual Exploitation awareness, Positive behavior support, and Restraint (‘Team Teach’) etc.

Training is now delivered by an in-house trainer; we have seen a very comprehensive training matrix for all staff, including management. This is amongst the best seen from any Semi-Independent provider.”
